Arrival in the
U.S.
Upon your arrival to the United States, Global Nurses Network
will arrange for your transportation from the airport to your
temporary apartment. Indeed, for the first two months here, your
lodging and transportation costs will be arranged for. During
this time, we will assist you in handling administrative tasks,
such as:
Getting a drivers license (required)
Getting a social security number (required)
Assistance with setting up bank accounts, credit cards,
etc.
Getting started
at work
Quickly after arrival, we will assist in getting you a temporary
license within the state you intend to work in (if possible).
This will enable you to begin working immediately and obtaining
salary. During this time, we will also help you setup a date to
take the NCLEX exam, or the licensing exam for that state. Once
you have passed the NCLEX exam, your temporary license will be
replaced with a permanent one. At this point, you will be a full-fledged,
practicing nurse in the United States.
Outside of work
In addition, we will provide you with a basic orientation of the
geographic area you will be in, as well as introduce you to the
available activities in your community. We will also introduce
you to our other nurses whom we've staffed in your area, so you
can instantly enjoy a social circle of friends.
